How ad-supported AI works (and why it's free)

Why is it free?

Running a large language model costs real money — every prompt uses compute. A free product still has to pay for that compute somehow. The two common answers are subscriptions and ads.

FreedAI uses the ad model: instead of paying with your wallet, you pay with a moment of your attention.

The exchange

  1. You use your free prompts.
  2. When they run out, you can watch a short sponsor message to earn more.
  3. That sponsor paid to reach you — and that revenue funds the next batch of free prompts.

The honest part

Most "free" products don't show you the math. We do. The economics are simple:

Ads we don't do

We don't track you across the web, and we don't sell your data. The ads are sponsor messages you explicitly choose to watch, on the same page where you chat.

Why it matters

Ad-supported AI is a bet that attention can pay for intelligence — making good AI available to people who wouldn't pay a subscription. If the math holds, it's a fair trade: you get the tool, the sponsor gets your attention, and everyone knows what the deal is.
